The Quiet Confidence

by Donutree · 2026-04-16

When present trials weigh upon the soul,
And pain writes verses in a minor key,
True happiness transcends the current toll—
It dwells not here, but in what's yet to be.

The quiet confidence that dawn will break
Though night feels endless in its crushing hold,
That better days await for those who wake
To find their struggles turn from lead to gold.

Not pleasure fleeting, nor joy's brief refrain,
But steady trust that time will turn the page—
This deeper peace sustains us through the pain,
The certain hope that brightens every age.

For happiness, when stripped of false pretense,
Is faith tomorrow holds more recompense.
